Nimi in Nashville

I am a New Yorker soaking in the Nashville life.
I think I am having a mid life crisis, although I am too young to have one and I am deep down quite enlightened.
I am, searching, people, for a home, for deliverance, for candy perfume dreams to finally fit into my skin and not need any more alterations.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Mud Mask…..

I was in Walgreen’s a couple of days ago, I had a few bucks to blow on something senseless and non essential

Aisle after aisle of creams, lotions, candles nothing moved me enough to actually purchase something.

Until, to my sheer delight I looked down on the bottom shelf and there standing tall in it’s oh so familiar green and white tube is THE QUEEN HELENE MINT JULEP MASQUE!

Okay you don’t understand this was like finding buried treasure! Like rekindling an old flame, like, LIKE, hitting the lottery! This was very necessary.

I haven’t laid eyes on her since the year I turned 17(which was 1990)

Are you surprised I can actually remember that far back!?

I bent down to grab one and saw that the sign underneath said 2 for $3.00!

I immediately grabbed 2, rushed to the counter to pay so I could get out of there and start planning an encore performance of my friday night ritual from long ago.

It was a perfect night to do this! My husband and my baby were visiting my sister so I could have some alone time.

I stepped into the bathroom and took my position in front of the mirror.

As soon as I unscrewed that cap, a comforting aroma of mint and clay tickled my nose.

As I painted my face with this crisp, cool mud I remembered how I felt when I was that 17 year old girl using the same product.

Every friday night I would go to this Club in Manhattan called Emerald City.

So on those nights about 2 hours before I left, to go listen to some SNAP and C&C Music Factory(and hopefully meet a cute boy)

I would have to put my Mint Julep Mud Masque on. I would smear it on, in front of the mirror and then hang my face out of my bedroom window and let the refreshing air hit my cheeks.

I would look up at the stars and wonder what would happen that night, who would I meet, What friends were going, and what Diner we would we wind up at later on.

I pictured my Chevy Cavalier, my little sister, and the way my toes felt on the red rug I had in my room.

Before the masque hardened I stuck my face out the window and looked up at the sky and for a few moments I was that girl again.

I washed off the masque and and my face felt so squeaky clean, so firm and rejuvenated.

I have used many other “expensive” mud Masques over the years  that claim to be the fountain of youth.

We get tricked by the fancy packaging and the “celebrity” who endorses it.

Quite honestly none have compared to the feeling I get when I use Queen Helene Mint Julep.

If you truly want to save time in a bottle and some dimes in your pocket try it.
